A media report in January claimed that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, expected to release in the first quarter of 2024, would consist of just two models – the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra, with the Korean company supposedly forgoing the Galaxy S24+. However, new intel counters this, revealing that the S24 series will continue to include the Base, Plus, and Ultra models, mirroring the S23 lineup.
Reports suggest that Samsung has codenamed the Galaxy S24 series as “Muse,” with each model receiving a distinct codename: Muse 1, Muse 2, and Muse 3. If these claims hold, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be ‘Muse 3’, hinting at the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ being respectively codenamed ‘Muse 1’ and ‘Muse 2’. This solidifies the suggestion that the S24 series will indeed feature three models.
Insiders have reiterated that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, replacing the 3x telephoto lens seen in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. We already heard rumors in April about Samsung’s plan to remove the 3x telephoto feature from the S24 Ultra. While it will be at least another six months before we can confirm this, more details about the S24 series will likely emerge in the coming months.
